Overview
Scabies are often caused by the tiny burrowing mite called Sarcoptes Scabiei. Under the situation, the itchy sensation increases especially at night hours. The condition is contagious which means the spread of scabies is noticed from person to person frequently. As scabies spreads quickly, the dermatologist recommends the treatment of at least the application of medicated ointment to every family member. The use of medication will prevent mites of scabies from producing eggs. The treatment may provide positive results but the itching sensation is so severe that one must face it even after a complete course of medication. The diagnosis of scabies is done after microscopic examinations.
Causes and Risk Factors of Scabies
The several causes and the risk factors involved in the condition of scabies are mentioned below.
Scabies are caused because of the presence of the small eight-legged mite. The female mite burrows underneath the skin to lay eggs there. Soon when the eggs hatch, they tend to travel the surface of skin. Wherever the mites travel, an itching sensation starts which leads to the spread of infection.
Risk Factores Invovled
The condition is risky it spreads from one person to another. Sharing clothes, skin-to-skin contact, or proximity with the person facing scabies may lead to the spread quickly.
Scabies is a different infection, it does not spread from pet to person and the mite that infects pets is not the same as that infects humans.
Physical Contact is prohibited in the condition of scabies as it may spread to another.
Too much scratching or itching with sharp objects may lead to a condition called impetigo.
Many people with scabies are diagnosed with this form of scabies. This causes trouble in terms of itching, redness, rashes, skin bumps, and skin peeling. This affects several parts of the body.
This type is very rare but it is way too severe than the Classical Scabies. This infects people with lower immunity levels especially those with cancer, kidney problems, and HIV/ AIDS infection.
