Lamovate SL is a topical ointment containing Clobetasol propionate 0.05% which is a powerful corticosteroid and salicylic acid 6.5% a keratolytic. It is primarily designed to treat thick, scaly skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Clobetasol relieves inflammation, redness, and itching, and salicylic acid softens and removes layers of dead skin cells, which allows the steroid to be absorbed deeper and act quicker.

Working of Clobetasol propionate .05% + Salicylic Acid 6.5% ointment

The Lamovate SL is a formulation of two medicines, and each of the ingredients serves a special purpose in the treatment:

  • Clobetasol propionate it reduces the immune system activities in the skin by blocking the production of a molecule called prostaglandins, which cause inflammation, redness, and itching.
  • Salicylic Acid loosens the hardened, scaly skin by breaking down keratin.

The dosages of Clobetasol propionate .05% + Salicylic Acid 6.5% ointment must be prescribed by a doctor or healthcare provider and must follow their advice to avoid any unwanted conditions. Some of the recommended dosages are:

  • It is applied on the affected skin once or twice and day
